Gulfstream G600’s FAA Certification
By the end of June 2019, the Gulfstream G600 earned FAA certification.
The aircraft received both its type and production certificates on the same day from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The certifications cleared the way for the first completed G600 deliveries to customers as scheduled in 2019. The FAA type certification allowed G600 operators to fly internationally, as long as the aircraft was based in the United States.
The avionics configuration for the G600 and the G500 are identical, with a Honeywell Symmetry flight deck, and a third-generation enhanced vision system. However, the G600 is the largest of the two. The G600 has a 6,500 nautical mile range, a Mach 0.85 cruising speed, and its cabin is four and a half feet longer than the G500’s cabin. The G600 can seat up to 19 passengers, and at the time had a price of $58 million USD.
